PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

To evaluate the Sero•Strip HIV, 3281 serum specimens from four different countries in North America and Southeast Asia were analyzed in blind studies. Testing was performed by personnel from different laboratories in each country. All specimens were analyzed with Sero•Strip HIV and at least one EIA. If discrepant or reactive results were obtained, further analysis with a reference method was performed.

Diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of the Sero•Strip HIV test with specimens collected at four different geographic locations:

Sensitivity: 99.61%

Specificity: 99.96%
